You're Right About the Fence - We're Going to Sort It

We've heard you on the car park fence. A few people have said it's too high and a bit of an eyesore, and honestly, you've got a point. So here's where we're up to.

First, why it went up at all: before we got hold of the place, the car park had become a magnet for trouble - including drug use - and it wasn't a safe spot for anyone living nearby. The police were keen for us to secure it, so we put up fencing and cameras to draw a line under it. It's done the job, and things have been a lot quieter since.
But "it works" and "it looks right" aren't the same thing, and the current fence is doing the first better than the second. So we're already talking to our builders about pulling it back from where it is now and putting up something that does the same job without looming over the road - lower, better-looking, maybe softened with a bit of planting. The police are still in the loop so we keep the area secure while we're at it.

One other thing we're chasing alongside this: there's a drainage problem on the road adjoining the car park that isn't ours to fix directly, but we've reported it and we're pushing to get it sorted, because it doesn't do anyone any favours - us or the neighbours.
We'll let you know once we've settled on the design and when the work's happening. And as ever, if you've thoughts on what would look right there, we're all ears - the contact form's on the home page.
